How GenInteractive handles personal information collected through this website.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by GENINTERACTIVE (PTY) LTD, trading as GenInteractive, a private company based in Durban Central, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Company registration number: K2026876280. For privacy questions or requests, please use our contact form or message us on WhatsApp (opens in a new tab).
2. Information we collect
When you submit the contact form we collect the information you provide:
- your full name and, optionally, your business name;
- your email address and contact number;
- the service you are interested in and, optionally, an estimated budget;
- the project description you write.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (for example IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. To limit repeated form submissions, your browser keeps a short list of recent submission times in its local storage; this list stays on your device.
3. Why we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss your requirements;
- to prepare a quotation or proposal at your request;
- to protect the website and the contact form against spam and abuse;
- to meet legal obligations where they apply.
4. Our legal basis
We process your information with your consent (given when you tick the box on the contact form) and where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. It may be processed by service providers that help us run the website, such as our web hosting and form-handling providers. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are retained for 12 months, subject to applicable legal requirements. Client and project records are retained for periods required by applicable tax, accounting, contractual and other legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to those obligations.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including restricting access and using encrypted connections where available. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
8. Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to its processing. Submit a request through our contact form or message us on WhatsApp. If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
